Trade your usual sidewalk shuffle for a leash-led mini-adventure through the leafy, pup-loving parks scattered just beyond the oak-draped borders of Biscayne Park, a coveted family-friendly community dotted with majestic tree canopies and expansive green spaces.

Give your dog a reason to wag over time with grassy detours, shady corners, and endless lush spaces steps away from Biscayne Park, a peaceful, tree-canopied village with a distinct and highly consistent real estate landscape featuring single-family homes on oversized lots and in a diverse mix of architectural character.

At just under one square mile and made up of around 1,200 homes, Biscayne Park is known for its tranquil atmosphere, vintage homes with big yards, and towering oak trees.

And here, dogs rule the block, around it, and beyond!

Why is that, you ask?

Well, aside from Biscayne Bay's neighborly vibe and laid-back charm, it's just moments from some of Miami's best outdoor spots, from locales like North Miami, Miami Shores, and more, which means fresh air and new trails for the humans and plenty of wagging tails for the four-legged crew.

So if you're planning a bark-worthy outing with your favorite floof, here's the good news—

You've got a whole trail of dog-friendly parks to explore nearby!

Here are the dog-friendly parks near Biscayne Park.

1) Biscayne Shores and Gardens Park (Top-Pick!)

11525 NE 14th Ave, Miami, FL 33161

If palm trees, expansive spaces of grass, and the Florida sun are all you need to have a good time with Fido, stop by Biscayne Shores and Garden Park, a 5-minute drive from Biscayne Park!

The park has more than 6 acres of green space and shade to play in, with ample parking in the southeast corner.

Once in the parking area, you and your leashed pup can enjoy a newly paved looping trail that travels through the park and connects shaded sitting areas.

Biscayne Shores and Gardens Park also has some great dog-friendly amenities, like dog-sized water fountains, clean-up stations, benches and picnic tables, and trash bins.

You'll find large shade trees, open fields, a community garden, and a small playground at the park's center.

2) North Bayshore William Lehman Park (Top-Pick!)

12220 N Bayshore Dr, North Miami, FL 33181

All dog owners yearn for a safe place for their dogs to run free during a vacation, and near Biscayne Park, North Bayshore Park is an ideal option, only 8 minutes away!

With its fishing pier, outdoor exercise stations, picnic areas, benches, shelters, and expansive dog park, North Bayshore Park is a dream for families and dog lovers alike.

And since it's right by the ocean, it's also an honorary local chill spot during lazy afternoons!

At the dog park, you'll find two separate areas for small and large breeds, complete with agility and play equipment for pups!

They'll never grow bored at North Bayshore Park, for sure!

Bring Fido's leash when you visit, as you'll need to have your dog on a lead when going in and out of the off-leash area.

3) Jaycee Park

14195 NE 16th Ct, North Miami, FL 33181

Jaycee Park is a tiny North Miami neighborhood park with open green spaces where you can bring your dog for a quick stroll or exercise on a leash, just 8 minutes from Biscayne Park.

Although there's not much you can do at this park aside from roaming its perimeter with your pup, Jaycee Park is a good stopover for a short but sweet outdoor trip with Fido, especially if you're in the area.

4) Military Trail Park (Top-Pick!)

825 NE 89th St, Miami, FL 33138

Sitting right on the shore's edge is the Military Trail Park, a grassy, expansive park with winding footpaths, benches, and a fenced-off dog area just 8 minutes from Biscayne Park.

The park is a bustling and blooming area with tall trees, a gorgeous grassy lawn, trails, and a small gravel parking area, on the south side, that connects to a dedicated dog park by a paved pathway.

At the dog park, you'll find separate areas for large and small dogs, with grass terrain and shade.

Dog owners will have to pass through a double-gated entrance into the park.

Dog park amenities include benches, a 5-foot high chainlink fence, a water fountain for humans, kids, and dogs, clean-up stations, and trash bins to use.

Meanwhile, at Military Trail Park, dogs on leashes can explore its entirety, where you can enjoy a shaded playground, picnic tables, a .4-mile trail made from concrete, benches, and water fountains near the play area.

It's a great area to walk around in a loop to get away from the active dog center of the park.

Don't forget to bring a leash!

5) Miami Shores Village Bayfront Park

9501-9599 N Bayshore Dr, Miami Shores, FL 33138

A small neighborhood park with gorgeous bayfront views, water fountains, benches, and a walking path for strolling, jogging, or dog walking, Miami Shores Village Bayfront Park is another community park you can bring Fido to around Biscayne Park, just 8 minutes away.

What the park lacks in amenities, it makes up for with its picturesque scenery.

In fact, Miami Shores Village Bayfront Park is a great place to stop if you can't make it to the beach!

You'll see locals in this park, eating, people-watching, dog-walking, or watching the sunrise or sunset!

Indeed, it's the perfect spot to spend a relaxing time with your pup around Biscayne Park.

6) Manatee Bend Park

465 NE 77th Street Rd, Miami, FL 33138

On the banks of the historic Little River, wedged up against the bustling neighborhood of Miami Ironside, sits a patch of grass where you can lie about and let your dog run around near Biscayne Park.

Welcome to Manatee Bend Park, a 1.2-acre park with open green spaces and fields right on the river, with tall trees that cover more than half of it under shade, located just 10 minutes away.

Here, dog lovers and their pups can stroll its small, partly-shaded looping concrete trail, perimeter sidewalk, and a concrete trail that follows along the river's edge.

It offers benches along the edge of the grass and a rocky shore that descends into the water.

One of the best features of this park is the fact that you can view manatees at this park.

With picnic tables and benches available, there is plenty of room to sit and relax on the shore, where you can view hordes of sea cows relaxing in the water.

Due to this, doggie visitors must remain on a leash while at Manatee Bend Park.

7) Belle Meade Mini Park

775 NE 77th St, Miami, FL 33138

While small and offering few amenities, the only park in Belle Meade, Belle Meade Mini Park, shouldn't be disregarded when looking for a nature spot with a pup in tow, since it's only 10 minutes from Biscayne Park.

The park has plenty of shade and room for the kids and Fido to play, boasting barbecue pits for your impromptu outdoor family lunches, picnic tables and benches to eat or sit on, and a vast shaded playground that your kids will love.

And good news for dog owners, Belle Meade Mini Park also has a dedicated dog park within its premises, with a fenced area for off-leash fun.

However, the rest of the park requires dogs to be leashed at all times.

Don't forget to bring water and a leash for your dog when you visit!

8) Arch Creek East Passive Park

2699 NE 135th St, North Miami, FL 33181

Welcome to Arch Creek East, a one-of-a-kind residential environmental preserve and one of the top dog-friendly parks in North Miami, just 10 minutes from Biscayne Park.

An essential link in South Florida's challenged coastal ecosystem, Arch Creek East is home to manatees, saltwater crocodiles, wood storks, great-horned owls, egrets, herons, pelicans, ospreys, swamp rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, possums, box turtles, land crabs, ghost crabs, eagle rays, mullet, snapper, snook, grouper, and other wildlife native to South Florida.

Arch Creek East also boasts 13 acres of lush green spaces and bodies of water, including a mangrove forest and coastal estuary where you'll find an exceptionally diverse range of plants.

Meanwhile, the preserve's pathway is enjoyed by walkers, runners, cyclists, bird-watchers, good old-fashioned nature lovers, and, of course, visitors with a furry companion!

Share a "walk on the wild side" with Fido at Arch Creek East — but be sure it's on a leash!
