(1)

Setting Up Electricity, Water, and Gas — A Quick Guide for The Sanctuary at Pinecrest Movers

Welcome to The Sanctuary at Pinecrest!

To reap the full benefits of your new 'sanctuary,' it's time to set up your electricity, gas, and tap, a.k.a. your must-have utilities!

First stop — lighting up the home!

Create or log in to your existing account at the Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) website and apply for service at your new address.

New account holders need to submit their Social Security, Driver's License, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number, the new service address, and the connection date, and existing FPL customers only need to advise the disconnection date (old address), re-connection date,  and complete service address for a service transfer.

Apart from this, a deposit of $25 (minimum) and other initial set-up fees may be charged upfront, whether you're a new or existing customer.

Next is getting the stove ready for home-cooked meals.

If you're steering clear from anything induction or electric — or want a reliable backup, hook up your kitchen with Florida City Gas (FCG).

After confirming availability, submit the necessary IDs and connection date (new customer) or advise the disconnection date, the complete address of the new home, and preferred service transfer date (existing customer) — easy as pie!

Your deposit fees may be based on the home's square footage or equal to twice the average monthly bill, and you may need to settle a connection fee before the service connection.

Last but not least is your running water — you'll need it for long baths and fresh agua on tap!

Check water and sewer availability on the Miami-Dade Water & Sewer website.

New customers must create an online account and deposit $50 for water, $50 for sewer, and a non-refundable $45 connection fee, and existing owners must also settle any outstanding balance before service transfer.

From Buffering to Bingeing: Your Internet and Cable TV in The Sanctuary at Pinecrest

Keep your The Sanctuary at Pinecrest home binge-ready with a fast-speed internet connection and reliable cable TV service from top providers like Comcast Xfinity and AT&T!

Side note: Nowadays, these services are non-negotiable, especially if you have a Smart home!

Assess your household's usage and entertainment needs, choose a suitable plan, and apply for a new service by submitting your complete address and proper IDs online or in person at the nearest store.

Meanwhile, existing Comcast or AT&T customers can request a service transfer after settling any remaining balance on their accounts.

Oh, and don't forget to check with your provider if you need to settle deposits, activation/installation, and equipment rental fees upfront.

Otherwise, expect these charges to reflect on your first bill.

The "Drive" to Thrive: Getting a Florida Driver's License

Get the smooth relocation going with a Florida driver's license!

But if you don't have one, listen up!

A Florida driver's license isn't just a REQUIREMENT within 30 days of establishing residency, but your 'green light' to drive all Florida roads and get things done QUICKER!

Not to mention that it's one of the easiest IDs to apply for, especially if you have an existing driver's license from another state or country!

To get yours, visit the nearest Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) or any local office offering driver's license services and submit the necessary documents.

Click on the applicable residency status to know which documents to have on hand when you apply:

The initial Florida Class E license, including a learner's permit, is $48.00, a commercial driver's license (Class A) is $75.00, and an ID Card fee is $25.00.

For a complete list of driver's license fees, click here.

Applicants with a current or previous driver's license from another state, country, or jurisdiction need not take the Drug and Alcohol courses, Class E Knowledge exam, and Florida Driving tests.

However, the Vision and Hearing test is still a must!

You'll also need insurance to title and register your vehicle(s) within ten (10) days of establishing residency.

On the other hand, if you have an existing Florida driver's license, notify the DMV of your new address for an updated driver's license to avoid breaking the law.
