Enjoy the BEST of South Florida's luxury coastal living as you create your own story in the prestigious community of Sunny Isles Beach, a one-of-a-kind oceanfront paradise known as "The City of Sun and Sea!"

Roam the heart of Florida's "French Riviera" to discover the welcoming community of  Sunny Isles Beach,   an upscale oceanfront neighborhood offering 1.78 square miles of  lavish resorts, endless miles of pristine white-sand beaches,  and  a unique and peaceful archipelago.

A highly-rated tourist spot    offering a  glittering oceanfront  brimming with  luxury high-rise condos  and  hotels, lush nature,  and an  eclectic mix  of  boutiques, cafes,  and  restaurants  along its lively Collins Avenue strip, Sunny Isles Beach remains not just a  choice travel destination  but also a  coveted residential paradise  for  Miami's elite —  and I mean only those who can afford it!

But to be honest, I'm not surprised it is!

With its one-of-a-kind South Floridian mix of luxury living, laid-back atmosphere, and stunning natural beauty seamlessly paired with residential pockets of well-appointed single-family homes and sky-high apartment and condo towers upholding an unparalleled oceanfront lifestyle, Sunny Isles Beach joins the ranks of Miami's top beachfront dwellings, and if you've found the perfect home in this highly sought-after address, congratulations!

In no time, you'll find yourself embracing a lifestyle where the allure of beachfront serenity meets modern luxury, and to ensure everything is painless and stress-free, I'm here to guide you through the ins and outs of moving to "The City of Sun and Sea !"

Here are 7 things you need to do IMMEDIATELY when moving to  Sunny Isles Beach.

     (1)

Moving Homes 101: The Foundation Of Your Sunny Isles Beach House

Out of all your other moving-in errands, getting your Sunny Isles Beach home ready for occupancy remains a top priority.

So, if you haven't hooked your home up to electricity, water, and natural gas services, I'll help you get the ball rolling to ensure your home is as comfortable and functional as it can be!

For electricity, create or log in to your existing account at the  Florida Power & Light Company (FPL)  website and apply for service at your new address.

New account holders need to submit their Social Security, Driver's License, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number, the new service address, and the connection date, and existing FPL customers only need to advise the disconnection date (old address), re-connection date,  and complete service address for a service transfer.

Aside from your application, a deposit of $25 (minimum) and other initial set-up fees may be charged upfront, whether you're a new or existing customer.

Meanwhile, if your HOA or building management allows natural gas service, get yours from  TECO Peoples Gas !

To apply, submit the necessary IDs and connection date (new customer) or advise the disconnection date, the complete address of your new home, and your preferred service transfer date (existing customer).

Keep in mind that deposit fees may be based on the home's square footage or equal to twice the average monthly bill, and you may need to settle a connection fee before the service connection.

That's all there is to it— your water and sewer services are provided by the City of Sunny Isles Beach, so ideally, you should have running water as soon as you move into your Sunny Isles Beach home.

But if it's newly built, contact the  City of North Miami Beach  to hook up your water service and  Miami-Dade County  for your sanitary sewer!

     (2)

Staying "Connected" In Sunny Isles Beach: Must-Have Subscriptions For Your Sunny Isles Beach Home

While the majority of Miami and South Florida seek esteemed providers like  Comcast Xfinity  or  AT&T  for reliable internet and cable services, Sunny Isles Beach residents get theirs from  Breezeline   (cable, internet, and telephone) and  Hotwire  (internet) for better connection and coverage!

So, once you've determined your household's usage and entertainment needs, submit your complete address and proper IDs online or in person at the nearest Breezeline or Hotwire store, or if you're an existing customer, request a service transfer as soon as you pay any remaining balance on your account!

It's also best to ask your provider about paying deposits, activation/installation, and equipment rental fees upfront.

Otherwise, these charges may reflect on your first bill.

     (3)

The Initial Step Of Your Sunny Isles Beach Journey: Your Florida Driver's License

Excited to spend a lifetime in the prestigious community of Sunny Isles Beach?

Before you can start your Sunny Isles Beach adventure, there's one step you can't skip!

Getting a Florida driver's license, especially for those from another country or state!

By doing so, you're not only adhering to the state's guidelines (a Florida driver's license is a REQUIREMENT within 30 days of establishing residency), but you'll also get a headstart on your relocation process and have the "go-signal" to drive around Florida!

So, to get one of your own, visit the nearest  Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV)  or any local office offering driver's license services and submit the necessary documents.

Click on the applicable residency status to know which documents to have on hand when you apply:

    •  U.S Citizen
    • Immigrant
    • Non-Immigrant
    •  Canadian

The initial Florida Class E license, including a learner's permit, is $48.00, a commercial driver's license (Class A) is $75.00, and an ID Card fee is $25.00.

For a complete list of driver's license fees,  click here.

Generally, those with a current or previous driver's license from another state, country, or jurisdiction don't have to take Drug and Alcohol courses, Class E Knowledge exams, and the Florida Driving tests, but the Vision and Hearing test is mandatory!

Meanwhile, if you have an existing Florida driver's license, notify the DMV of your new address for an updated driver's license to avoid breaking the law.

You'll need insurance to title and register your vehicle(s) within ten (10) days of establishing residency.

     (4)

Creating Educational Opportunities: The Hunt For The Best Sunny Isles Beach School

Do you want to know another AWESOME thing about Sunny Isles Beach?

The lavish oceanfront community is not just a treasure trove of luxury real estate but a gateway to some of Miami's best educational institutions!

Election-Ready: The Steps To Getting Voter Registration In Sunny Isles Beach

Still clueless about getting voter registration in Sunny Isles Beach?

If you're a newly naturalized U.S. citizen or someone who has yet to become a registered voter (for whatever reason), I'll help you have a VOICE within your new community!

Since, as we all know, voting is your RIGHT and the only way to have a "say" in your neighborhood's, city's, and country's futures!

If you're a legal-age U.S. citizen with all the requirements to become a registered voter, submit your application with the proper IDs and documents through the  Florida Department of State  or the  Miami-Dade County Elections Department  online, by mail or in person at the Elections Department or any Elections Branch office!

Any current and valid identifications with a photograph and signature (e.g., Florida Driver's License, United States passport, etc.) will do, so make this your utmost priority!

For other legal forms of identification and supplementary requirements,  c lick here.

     (6)

An 'ECOMMITTED' Sunny Isles Beach: What You Need To Know About Sunny Isles Beach's Green Initiatives

Yes, folks, you read it right!

Sunny Isles Beach is an "ECOMMITTED" community, which means your new neighborhood firmly supports Miami-Dade's green initiatives toward a clean and sustainable county!

So, if you don't want to get caught breaking ANY of Sunny Isles Beach's strict recycling, waste management, and PROPER disposal guidelines, ensure that you stay informed of any updates about Sunny Isles Beach's solid waste and recycling schedules.

It's only a small price to pay to help maintain and enhance your new community's environmental health and pristine surroundings!

For your reference, here are s olid waste, "bulky" garbage, and recycling schedules below, as advised by the  City of Sunny Isles Beach:

    •  Residential Garbage Collection- twice a week (Mondays & Thursdays)
    • Free recycling collection - once a week (Mondays, through the City of Miami Solid Waste Department)
    •  "Bulky" trash collection - two large pickups annually (self-scheduled through the City of Miami Solid Waste Department)

Failure to follow these waste management codes may result in a fine or arrest.

For detailed information about schedules and fees in your zone, visit the  Garbage Collection in Sunny Isles Beach   ,  the  City of Miami Solid Waste Department , or check with your HOA or building management.
