Embellish your next chapter with Biscayne Bay's sparkling views, a lush, tropical ambiance, and a highly-coveted nautical lifestyle as you explore life in Old Cutler Bay, a prestigious slice of waterfront elegance and tranquility in southern Coral Gables.

Find premium comfort and peace amidst the city's vibrant energy as you immerse into the revered community of Old Cutler Bay, an exclusive gated neighborhood on the edge of Biscayne Bay and Coral Gables' southernmost tip.

Bordered by Gables Estates to its northeast, Snapper Creek Lakes to its southwest, Ponce Davis to the northwest, Cocoplum to the east, and Pinecrest to its south, Old Cutler Bay shares the same opulent appeal of Coral Gables' private waterfront communities, as seen from its select collection of 136 estates and mansions, many with private docks and direct Bay access.

That said, seclusion will be far from your worries, thanks to Old Cutler Bay's proximity to Coral Gables' bustling commercial scene and famous cities and suburbs like Pinecrest and South Miami, ensuring that everything you love about Magic City is only moments away.

So, if you're looking to move to this luxurious residential oasis or have already made your biggest (and best) decision yet, let our guide help you navigate your transition to Old Cutler Bay and make the most of your new suburban lifestyle by the water!

Here are 7 things you need to do IMMEDIATELY when moving to Old Cutler Bay.

(1)

Power Up Your Coastal Retreat: The Essential Steps in Setting Up Your Old Cutler Bay Home

If you're at a loss on how to go about your Old Cutler Bay relocation, applying for your utilities should be at the top of your list, especially if you're moving to a newly built house.

So, first on the agenda is your electricity.

To set it up, visit Florida Power & Light (FPL) online.

If you're new to FPL, create an account and fill in vital details like your Social Security Number, Driver's License, Social Insurance or Tax ID number, full-service address, and desired connection date.

For existing FPL customers, it's easy —  log in to your account, select the date to cut off service at your old place, and the date to light things up at your stunning Old Cutler Bay retreat.

Prepare for a potential deposit fee (starting around $25) and a few initial set-up charges to get everything running smoothly.

Next on the list is contacting Florida City Gas (FCG) if you want to keep things natural around the kitchen.

Confirm service availability (we already did!), set up an online account (if you're new), or update your service date and address if you're already a customer.

Once you're through with all that, prepare to pay a deposit fee based on double the average monthly bill for your home's size, plus a connection fee to get your service started.

Last but not least, your water connection, which you can do on the Miami-Dade Water & Sewer website!

Check your home's service availability, set up an online account (if you don't already have one), and be ready for a couple of charges, including a $50 deposit each for water and sewer, plus a non-refundable $45 connection fee.

Meanwhile, if you're transferring services, settle outstanding balances before the switch.

Wi-Fi Waves and Cable Craze: Staying Connected in Old Cutler Bay

To keep up with modern times, having a fast internet connection and cable TV is as vital as your home utilities.

So, to stay connected with loved ones abroad and updated with the latest in the media, get your services from trusted companies like Comcast Xfinity and AT&T, and explore their competitive internet-cable packages.

Once you have the perfect bundle in mind, preferably one that will fit your home's usage, apply online or pop into the nearest store, have your complete address and IDs ready, and request a service — or have yours transferred to your new home after settling any balance on your account!

Don't forget to ask about any deposits, activation/installation, and equipment rental fees to settle upfront to avoid surprise charges.

A License to Cruise: Getting Your First Old Cutler Bay ID

Bringing a car (or cars, if you're THAT bougie) to your big Old Cutler Bay move?

If you want to continue driving (legally), a Florida driver's license is non-negotiable, especially if you're coming from another state or country!

You see, this isn't just the most hassle-free way to get your first official Old Cutler Bay ID — a Florida driver's license is a MUST within 30 days of establishing residency and your "green light" to drive around your new community and beyond!

So, if you still have this task unchecked,  visit the nearest Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) or any local office offering driver's license services and submit the necessary documents.

To know which documents to bring, click on your residency status:

The initial Florida Class E license, including a learner's permit, is $48.00, a commercial driver's license (Class A) is $75.00, and an ID Card fee is $25.00.

For a complete list of fees, click here.

If you're already a licensed driver from another state, country, or jurisdiction, there's good news: you'll probably skip the Drug and Alcohol courses, Class E Knowledge exams, and Florida Driving tests.

That said, the Vision and Hearing test is still a must.

Meanwhile, if you already have yours, let the DMV know about your new address to get it on file and the new ID.

You'll also need to have your car(s) titled and registered for insurance within ten (10) days of establishing residency.

Still unregistered for the coming elections?

Don't let yourself get caught without voter registration!

Aside from being one of the most significant civic duties, voting allows you to partake in your new community's growth and development, including your city, state, and country!

So, if you're over 18 and are a United States citizen who meets all the requirements, submit your application with the proper IDs and documents through the Florida Department of State or Miami-Dade County Elections Department.

You can also do it by mail or in person at the Elections Department or any Elections Branch office!

Any current and valid identification with a photograph and signature (e.g., Florida Driver's License, United States passport, etc.) should be enough to approve your registration!
