Here are 7 things you need to do IMMEDIATELY when moving to Miami Lakes.
(1)
The First Chapter Of A Life "Growing Beautifully": Preparing Your Miami Lakes Home
Ah yes, the "gruesome" process of moving homes!
It can be a drag sometimes, agree?
The bookings, the hauling, the unpacking, the BILLS — it seems IMPOSSIBLE to conquer!
But when relocating to a gorgeous town like Miami Lakes, there's no time to be stressed and grouchy, so make this RIDE enjoyable by starting with the FUNDAMENTALS!
Once you have a "functioning" home, everything will fit right in its place PERFECTLY!
To set up your electricity, create or log in to your existing account at the Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) website and apply for service at your new address, new or otherwise.
New account holders need to submit their Social Security, Driver's License, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number, the new service address, and the connection date, and existing FPL customers only need to advise the disconnection date (old address), re-connection date, and complete service address for a service transfer.
Aside from this, a deposit of $25 (minimum) and other initial set-up fees may be charged upfront, whether you're a new or existing customer.
Meanwhile, those who prefer cooking with natural gas should hook up their service with TECO Peoples Gas.
After confirming availability, submit the necessary IDs and connection date (new customer) or advise the disconnection date, the complete address of the new home, and preferred service transfer date (existing customer) — it's that easy!
Your deposit fees may be based on the home's square footage or equal to twice the average monthly bill, and you may need to settle a connection fee before the service connection.
Lastly, set up running water in your new home by checking for water and sewer availability on the Miami-Dade Water & Sewer website.
Once confirmed, new customers must create an online account and deposit $50 for water, $50 for sewer, and a non-refundable $45 connection fee, and existing owners must also settle any outstanding balance before service transfer.

Establishing "Connections" In Your New Town: Choosing The RIGHT Internet And Cable For Your Needs
Are you ready to pair a picturesque life in the suburbs with a lifetime of reliable "connections?"
High-speed internet and cable connections, that is!
Moving to the suburbs or otherwise, everyone needs access to the internet and cable to SURVIVE — it's the price of living in these modern times of social media, web surfing, and "Smart" everything!
So, if you're still on the "lookout" for the BEST package for your Miami Lakes home, check service providers like Comcast Xfinity and AT&T!
Once you have a provider and package of choice, apply for a new service by submitting your complete address and proper IDs online or in person at the nearest store, or if you're an existing Comcast or AT&T customer, request for a service transfer as soon as you settle any remaining balance on your account!
It's also best to check with your provider if you need to settle deposits, activation/installation, and equipment rental fees upfront to avoid any "surprises."
Otherwise, these said charges may reflect on your first bill.

Status: COMPLETE: The ID That Makes Your Miami Lakes Journey Official
So, you've purchased your dream home, scheduled the moving truck, packed up all your stuff, and paid all your remaining bills— but still feel like you're "missing" something?
That's because you probably are, especially if you have yet to apply for a Florida driver's license!
To make your Miami Lakes "journey" official, you'll need a Florida driver's license, literally and figuratively, since you can't drive around Florida without it!
Not to mention that it's a REQUIREMENT within 30 days of establishing residency!
So, if you don't have one yet, visit the nearest Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) or any local office offering driver's license services and submit the necessary documents.
Click on the applicable residency status to know which documents to have on hand when you apply:
The initial Florida Class E license, including a learner's permit, is $48.00, a commercial driver's license (Class A) is $75.00, and an ID Card fee is $25.00.
For a complete list of driver's license fees, click here.
Applicants with a current or previous driver's license from another state, country, or jurisdiction need not take the Drug and Alcohol courses, Class E Knowledge exam, and Florida Driving tests.
However, the Vision and Hearing test is still a must!
Meanwhile, if you have an existing Florida driver's license, notify the DMV of your new address for an updated driver's license to avoid breaking the law.
Oh, don't forget to get insurance to title and register your vehicle(s) within ten (10) days of establishing residency.
