Say hello to Golden Beach, a tiny slice of paradise bounded on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by the Intracoastal Waterway, on the south by the City of Sunny Isles Beach, and north by the City of Hallandale Beach!

Tagged as a "Town Like No Other," Golden Beach is a magnet for those who seek a secluded hideaway with all the luxuries of living in tropical elegance, with its mile-long family-friendly ambiance, nine (9) community parks, and private beach access, alongside an independent governing body ensuring the BEST quality of life for all its residents, where waterfront luxury living is ALWAYS at its finest!

All that said, it's no surprise how this million-dollar residential paradise has become one of Miami's sought-after coastal neighborhoods, attracting the most privileged residents, not only across Miami but anyone who enjoys luxury real estate and a secluded coastal lifestyle while being moments away from the BEST fine dining, cultural centers, professional sports venues, and world-class shopping centers in Magic City — and I mean those who can afford it!

So, if you've decided to move into this unparalleled beach town or are already transitioning into Golden Beach's impeccable coastal lifestyle, welcome and CONGRATULATIONS!

Ensuring your immersion into this coveted community should come easy, especially if you treat the Golden Beach BASICS as your utmost priority!

Here are 7 things you need to do IMMEDIATELY when moving to Golden Beach.

Creating An Unparalleled Life In Paradise: Taking Care Of Your Golden Beach Home Essentials

Can't wait to begin your Golden Beach adventure?

In a town this beautiful, only the best of coastal living awaits!

So, to ensure a smooth transition, it's best to take care of Golden Beach home essentials before your expected move-in date, which includes your utilities — electricity, water, and natural gas services!

But before you go sit in the corner and have an unplanned MELT-DOWN, let me assure you, setting all these up isn't as difficult as you think!

For your home electricity, create or log in to your existing account at the Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) website and apply for service at your new Downtown Miami address.

If you're a new customer, you'll need to submit your Social Security, Driver's License, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number, the new service address, and the connection date, or if you're already an existing FPL customer,  the disconnection date (old address), re-connection date,  and complete service address will suffice.

A deposit of $25 (minimum) and other initial set-up fees may be charged upfront, whether you're a new or existing customer.

Next, check with TECO Peoples Gas or Florida City Gas (FCG) for your natural gas services!

Once you've confirmed service availability, submit the necessary IDs and connection date (new customer) or advise the disconnection date, the complete address of your new home, and your preferred service transfer date (existing customer).

Note that deposit fees may be based on your home's square footage or equal to twice the average monthly bill, and you may need to settle a connection fee before service connection.

And for the finale, check for water and sewer availability at your new address on the Miami-Dade Water & Sewer website.

New customers must create an online account and deposit $50 for water, $50 for sewer, and a non-refundable $45 connection fee, and existing owners must also settle any outstanding balance before service transfer.

Achieving Seamless Connections: Surviving The Modern Era Through Reliable Internet And Cable Services

Can you honestly tell me straight in my face that you DON'T need a high-speed internet connection and cable service inside your fancy Golden Beach abode?

Yes, that's what I thought!

In these modern times, your "connections" will help you glide through life stress-free, especially in a secluded town like Golden Beach!

So, to get your hands on the best internet-cable bundles across Florida, look to service providers like Comcast Xfinity and AT&T!

After picking a provider and your preferred package, submit your application, your complete address, and proper IDs online or in person at the nearest store, or request for a service transfer as soon as you settle any remaining balance on your account if you're an existing Comcast or AT&T customer!

You should also do your due diligence and check your provider for any deposits, activation/installation, and equipment rental fees to pay upfront to avoid unexpected charges — otherwise, you may see them on your first bill!

Cruising Through Florida SCOT-FREE: Becoming An Official Golden Beach Resident Through A Florida Driver's License

While Golden Beach is a pretty "foot-friendly" community, the same can't be said for the rest of Florida, so if you're looking to make your Florida transition official, apply for a Florida driver's license!

Aside from being a REQUIREMENT within 30 days of establishing residency, a Florida driver's license is the quickest Florida ID to secure and your only "ticket" to driving on Florida roads LEGALLY, so yes, it's a MUST!

To apply, visit the nearest Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) or any local office offering driver's license services and submit the necessary documents.

Know which documents to have on hand by clicking on the applicable residency status:

The initial Florida Class E license, including a learner's permit, is $48.00, a commercial driver's license (Class A) is $75.00, and an ID Card fee is $25.00.

For a complete list of driver's license fees, click here.

Drivers with current or previous driver's licenses from another state, country, or jurisdiction may be allowed to forego mandatory Drug and Alcohol courses, the Class E Knowledge exam, and the Florida Driving test, but the Vision and Hearing test is still a MUST.

Meanwhile, if you already HAVE a Florida driver's license, notify the DMV of your new address for your updated driver's license — it's your duty as a full-pledge Floridian!

Also, get insurance to title and register your vehicle(s) within ten (10) days of establishing residency so you can use your OWN car when driving!

Loving The "Golden" Life: Your Role As An Honorary Golden Beach Local

If you're still an unregistered voter in 2024, you're banned from moving to Golden Beach!

Just kidding — or not!

But all jokes aside, if you're over 18, a United States citizen who meets all the requirements, and are an unregistered voter looking to make a change within your new community, submit your application with the proper IDs and documents through the Florida Department of State or the Miami-Dade County Elections Department online, by mail, or in person at the Elections Department or any Elections Branch office — yes, the process is THAT easy!

Any current and valid identification with a photograph and signature (e.g., Florida Driver's License, United States passport, etc.) will help you get approved, so stop making excuses and start applying for voter registration NOW!

Shielding Golden Beach's Natural Beauty: Joining Golden Beach's Invitation To Sustainable Living

Choosing Golden Beach as your new community has been one of your BEST informed decisions, but if you think this glorious town will stay as prestigious and esteemed as it is WITHOUT your help, well, you're in for a BIG surprise!

You see, Golden Beach has remained a spotless, sparkling, and clean community through the joint effort of the Town of Golden Beach and its loving residents, so if you're looking to be an honorary member of Golden Beach, you'll have to show your support for its adopted standards for garbage and trash collection!

For starters, familiarize yourself with the current solid waste, "bulky" garbage, and recyclables schedules:

  • Garbage collection (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) - Mondays and Thursdays
  • Trash collection (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) - Tuesdays and Fridays
  • Recyclable Material Collection (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) - Wednesdays
  • "Bulky" trash collection - self-arrangement with the City of Miami Solid Waste Department

Failure to follow these waste management codes will result in a fine or arrest.

For more information about the guidelines, schedules, and fees, visit The Town of Golden Beach - Garbage and Trash Collection and the City of Miami Solid Waste Department websites.
