Trade high-rise lounging for tail-wagging adventures filled with fresh-air perks at the best doggie retreats near Williams Island, a sprawling gated enclave in Aventura.

Spoil your furry companion with breezy park trails, grassy play zones, and just enough dirt to roll in as you explore the doggie-approved havens in and around Williams Island, an exclusive 84-acre paradise with a balmy tropical backdrop and a traditional country club lifestyle.

Positioned minutes from pet-friendly neighborhoods like Aventura (of course), Sunny Isles Beach, and North Miami Beach, this residential oasis may be high-class and exclusive, but it boasts quick access to some of the most tail-wagging parks in the area whenever your pup needs a break from the posh island life.

And no, we're not talking about sad patches of grass next to parking lots — around Williams Islands, it's all about shady trees, fenced-in romps, and water fountains galore.

So, pack the essentials, fluff up the fur, and prepare for some well-deserved paw-parazzi moments — it's time to sniff, strut, and play like a (four-legged) local.

Here are the dog-friendly parks near Williams Island.

     1)   Williams Island Dog Park (Doggie Hill Dog Park)   (Top-Pick!)

Behind the 2600 Island Blvd - Residence Du Cap, 2600 Island Blvd, Aventura, FL 33160

Say hello to Williams Island's exclusive dog park, Doggie Hill — a tiny haven designed for residents and their pups to enjoy a bit of off-leash freedom behind the 2600 building.

Fully fenced and equipped, Doggie Hill Dog Park is a favorite among locals for its safe, relaxed environment and community vibe, perfect for everything from playful fetch sessions to lazy afternoon sunbathing.

With plenty of open space and shady spots to lounge, Doggie Hill is clean and well-maintained, offering peace of mind for pet parents who like things a little more polished.

Beyond Doggie Hill, Williams Island enforces a leash policy throughout the rest of the property, making this designated area a welcome treat for dogs to stretch their legs.

Whether you're a daily visitor or just popping by after a walk along the marina, Doggie Hill is a convenient and charming spot for island pups to burn off some energy — friendly faces (human and canine) guaranteed.

     2)   East Greynold Park   (Top-Pick!)

16700 Biscayne Blvd, North Miami Beach, FL 33160

Step into the Northeast Regional Dog Park, North Miami Beach's beloved East Greynolds Park, and a standout among South Florida's renowned off-leash dog parks!

This 1.76-acre gem, highly favored by local dog owners, offers two distinct sections: one for small breeds and another tailored for larger dogs.

Each area is well-fenced, shaded, and equipped with benches and wash stations to cool off your furry companions.

You'll also find water fountains for you and your pets to stay hydrated, plus plenty of shaded seating where you can relax as your dogs frolic across the open, tennis ball-scattered fields.

Keep in mind that after a good rain, the park can get a bit muddy with several inviting puddles, so take advantage of the wash stations to ensure your pup stays clean for the 5-minute ride home!

     3)    Jack Chaiken Park

172 St. & NE 22 Ave., North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Jack Chaiken Park may be small, but it's the perfect pit stop for a relaxing walk with your dog, 5 minutes from Williams Island.

Nestled near a parking lot in North Miami Beach, this quiet, passive park doesn't offer recreational activities, making it an ideal spot for your pup to stretch its legs and enjoy fresh air during your travels.

Don't forget to bring a leash for your visit.

     4)    Aventura Community Recreation Center - Boardwalk

     3375 NE 188th St, Aventura, FL 33180

A hidden gem near the Aventura Community Recreation Center, just 5 minutes from Williams Island, the lovely boardwalk is a spot visitors can go to for beautiful views of Sunny Isles, the sunset, and a scenic walk with their pup!

In fact, you'll probably see many dogs around this boardwalk, as it's about 1.5 miles and the PERFECT length for an ideal dog walk.

And you know what the best part is? This boardwalk is open 24/7 and ISN'T residents-only, unlike the community center!

It also has several poop bag stations but no water fountains, so bring extra water for your pup on hot days!

     5)    Aventura Mall

1031-19575 Biscayne Blvd, Aventura, FL 33180

Are you planning on taking Fido on your Aventura shopping trip? Yes, you can!

Ensuring pet owners and their furry companions have a comfortable visit to Aventura Mall, the famous shopping enclave, brings you Jessica's Dog Park, located outside the mall entrance by Serafina.

The expansive doggie hangout spot offers a gated outdoor space for your furry friend to stretch their paws, hydrate at a water station, and take a bathroom break on the grass (a pick-up station is conveniently located inside the park).

There is also a small dog area for those who prefer to keep their furry friend close.

You'll find another dog park/station on the Lower Level entrance by Divieto and Les Moulins La Fayette, the Aventura Mall Dog Park, where you can take your four-legged friend for some exercise!

It has plenty of space for your dog to run around and some agility obstacles to enjoy. It's well-maintained, and the staff is always on hand to ensure your dog is having a good time!

The best news? Aventura Mall is only 6 minutes from Williams Island!

     6)   Barry Silverman Park

2000 NE 161st St, North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Spanning 1.2 acres of vibrant green space, Barry Silverman Park is the ideal spot for dog walking and outdoor activities in North Miami Beach, just 6 minutes from Williams Island.

Loaded with amenities like picnic tables, sand volleyball courts, tot lots for children, and short walking trails, Barry Silverman Park offers a delightful setting for relaxation and recreation.

Although your pup must remain on a leash while you're here, the park's expansive open areas provide plenty of space for leisurely walks any time of day.

With so many activities to choose from, you and your furry companion can transform an ordinary walk into an exciting adventure.

     7)    Fulford Park

2075 NE 168th St, North Miami Beach, FL 33162

At Fulford Park, just 6 minutes from Williams Island, you can enjoy the open green spaces that provide the perfect setting for a leisurely walk with your dog.

While your furry friend explores the park—leashed, of course—you can take advantage of the amenities like the basketball courts, offering a chance to shoot some hoops and stay active.

Though small, this neighborhood park offers plenty of space and activities for you and your pup to enjoy together.

     8)    Edna Moffat Boulevard

NE 171 St., between NE 15th and 19th Ave., North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Are you looking for an open green space to visit for a serene outdoor moment with your favorite furry pal, just 6 minutes from Williams Island?

Edna Moffat Boulevard will be your best bet!

Known as one of North Miami Beach's passive parks, Edna Moffat Boulevard comprises greens throughout, which means Fido will have ample space to walk and stretch its legs while enjoying the sun's rays!

Oh, and bring your dog's leash when you visit!

     9)    Schenkenberger Park

N Glades Dr & NE 169th St., North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Do you feel like having a relaxing stroll with your pup by the water?

Visit Schenkenberger Park, a small North Miami Beach passive park near the Snake Creek Canal Trail, just 7 minutes from Williams Island.

While it's not exactly a beach, nor does it offer expansive green spaces, Schenkenberger Park will be your best bet if you want to pair Fido's morning, afternoon, and evening walk with the cold breeze and waterfront views!

Bring a leash to prevent your pup from jumping in the water!

     10)    Taylor Park West

15458 W Dixie Hwy, North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Nestled within the perimeter of Aqua Bowl Lake, a nine-acre reservoir, is Taylor Park West, a serene, passive park with open green spaces near a quarry and just 7 minutes from Williams Island.

An ideal location for wildlife spotting and fishing, Taylor Park West is another park to visit for a long walk (with an immaculate view!) with your pup amidst birds, iguanas, turtles, raccoons, and big-mouthed bass, which can keep you busy during the stroll, too!

Remember to bring a leash when you visit this idyllic park!

     11)    Waterways Dog Park

     3401 NE 213th St, Aventura, FL 33180

Aventura locals have, yet again, another gorgeous dog park in their midst!

Waterways Dog Park, a large section of the famous Waterways Park, is a 1.5-acre waterfront park equipped for dogs to exercise off-leash, just 8 minutes from Williams Island.

The park features open space, two comfort stations with doggie water fountains, doggie showers, and a shaded patio with benches for dog parents to relax and enjoy.

If you're a resident, bring your dogs to this fun park made just for THEM!

     12)    Barry Schreiber Promenade Park

NE 72nd St. & South Glades Dr., North Miami Beach, FL 33141

Welcome to Barry Schreiber Promenade Park, another passive park near the Snake Creek Canal in North Miami Beach, just 8 minutes from Williams Island.

Tucked away in a serene location not too far from Skylake Plaza, Barry Schreiber Promenade Park is the perfect spot for a family day trip with Fido in tow, as you'll find a tiny playground and lots of sitting areas around the area.

There are also ducks roaming in Barry Schreiber Promenade Park, so bring a leash to avoid mishaps while visiting!

     13)    Heritage Park

19200 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160

Set in the vibrant heart of Sunny Isles Beach, Heritage Park is an ideal spot for dog lovers, just a quick 8-minute drive from Williams Island.

Covering four acres, Heritage Park has something for everyone—from two playgrounds and a Veterans' Wall to fountains, a water play area, and an event stage.

A spacious open lawn and ample parking make it perfect for a day filled with outdoor activities.

For those with four-legged companions, the park's south side features a leash-free zone where dogs can run and play in a safe, fenced area.

Just a heads-up, though—pups are only allowed in this designated space, so keep them on a leash elsewhere in the park.

Heritage Park also offers picnic tables, benches, free WiFi, restrooms, vending machines, and a community shuttle service for added convenience.

     14)    Don Soffer Exercise Trail

19999 W Country Club Dr, Aventura, FL 33180

While technically NOT a city park, the Don Soffer Exercise Trail is one of the most frequented dog-friendly trails in Aventura-- for a good reason!

Boasting a 10-foot wide paved pathway about 3.1 miles long, just 8 minutes from Williams Island, the famous spot is super dog-friendly, with several poop stations in every corner and doggy water fountains for when your pups get thirsty or need to freshen up!

Don Soffer Exercise Trail is also ideal for getting fresh air, hanging out on the benches, and relaxing under the shade trees. Just be wary of this exercise trail's pavement!

It's made of black asphalt, so be sure to avoid super hot days and always test if it's safe for your pup to walk on by placing your hand on the ground for 10 seconds!

     15)    Challenger Park

16501 NE 16th Ave., North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Challenger Park is a quaint passive park within North Miami Beach's Senator Gwen Margolis Amphitheater that boasts open green spaces for you and your pup to enjoy, just 8 minutes from Williams Island.

Although there aren't many activities around Challenger Park, save for the Amphitheater's facilities (a no-Fido zone, by the way), it will be a good spot for a short walk or a bonding session with your dog!

Just make sure your furry pal is on a leash when you visit!

     16)    Martin Luther King Park

155th Ter. & NE 16th Ave., North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Named in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., a towering figure in the civil rights movement, Martin Luther King Park is a serene, passive park in North Miami Beach, just 9 minutes from Williams Island.

While it's a great spot for a peaceful walk with your dog, there's more to this park than just green space.

In 2023, the city erected a statue of Martin Luther King Jr., thoughtfully placed in what locals refer to as "the alley"—a poignant location where a wall once segregated Blacks from Whites during the era of segregation.

So, as you bond with your pup, you can also reflect on the rich history encapsulated in this meaningful space.

     17)    Sauls Park

NE 13th Ave, North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Green, serene, and clean — this sums up Sauls Park, another passive park to add to your list when you visit North Miami Beach with your doggo, just 9 minutes from Williams Island.

Bearing massive shade trees and vast open green spaces for a relaxing stroll, Sauls Park will be the perfect spot for a fun day out with your pup, sans the harsh heat of the sun, thanks to Saul Park's collection of trees!

Don't forget to bring a leash for Fido!

     18)   Oleta River State Park   (Top-Pick!)

3400 NE 163rd St., North Miami Beach, FL 33160

Nestled on the shores of Biscayne Bay in North Miami Beach is a sprawling 1,043-acre haven perfect for a fun outing with your furry friend, Oleta River State Park, just 10 minutes from Williams Island.

As you pass through the gates, you'll find the serene beauty of tidal mangroves and a sense of calm that envelops this protected river estuary.

Known as Florida's largest urban park, Oleta offers over 1,000 acres of natural beauty where you can enjoy kayaking, biking, hiking, swimming, and camping.

Dogs are welcome on the trails and campgrounds but must remain leashed to ensure everyone's safety, especially around the park's wildlife areas.

Don't forget to bring waste bags for your pup—disposing of pet waste in the provided trash cans is required.

Please note that dogs can't go on the beach area of Oleta River State Park.

     19)    Bone Zone-Senator Gwen Margolis Park   (Top-Pick!)

17815 N Bay Rd, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160

Nestled in Sunny Isles Beach, 10 minutes from Williams Island, is Senator Gwen Margolis Park, a well-known 2.84-acre spot offering a safe and fun space for your furry friend!

Brimming with activities for the whole family, including a soccer field, a shaded playground with equipment for toddlers and older kids, picnic tables, and plenty of seating, Senator Gwen Margolis Park boasts fun for everyone in the family, its highlight being the ultimate spot for dog owners, the 'Bone Zone,' a fenced, off-leash area where pups can run free, make new friends, and burn off some energy.

Remember that dogs are only allowed in the designated areas, so don't forget to bring a leash when entering and exiting the park.

Additional park amenities include free WiFi, picnic tables, and a convenient community shuttle service.

     20)   Donald E. Bonhan Sr. Park

NE 158th Street & 12th Ave., North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Set your sights on Donald E. Bonhan Sr. Park, another passive park to visit with your pup around North Miami Beach, just 10 minutes from Williams Island.

Albeit quaint and bare, Donald E. Bonhan Sr. Park will be an ideal spot to bring your dog to for morning, afternoon, and evening walks or some Vitamin C, since the park is made up of open green spaces.

Don't forget to bring your doggo's leash!

     21)   Lucenda Neal Park

NE 14th Ave & NE 152nd Ter., North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Say hello to another passive park around North Miami Beach, Lucenda Neal Park, a tiny neighborhood hangout comprising open green spaces, just 10 minutes from Williams Island.

At Lucenda Neal Park, your dog will have ample space to walk, stroll, and get some fresh air, as long as it's leashed when you visit!
