Round up your furry co-captain, clip on that leash, and set sail for a day of sniffing, sprinting, and socializing around Sunrise Harbour, a tiny slice of coastal sophistication at Coral Gables' southern edge.

Give your pup the ultimate VIP treatment with an adventure packed with shady trails, breezy waterfront strolls, and plenty of spots to sniff, sprint, and socialize near Sunrise Harbour, the perfect canvas for the mariner at heart.

Sitting on a network of winding canals leading onto sparkling azures, Sunrise Harbour features 80 exceptional homes, many resting on the water's edge with canal access to the Bay, just a few steps from Coconut Grove despite its location in southern Coral Gables.

With its serene waterfront setting and exclusive collection of stunning residences, it's easy to picture Sunrise Harbour as a quiet retreat far from the urban bustle, with rustling palms and the occasional boat gliding by as the only sound heard throughout its secluded, sun-dappled streets.

Well…, that's mostly true.

See, while peace and privacy are part of the package, Sunrise Harbour also puts you within minutes from the best of Coral Gables and Coconut Grove, which means your pup's social calendar (and yours) is about to get a lot busier.

And that's not even the best part.

From scenic parks to tail-wagging playdates, you'll find no shortage of places for your four-legged sidekick to stretch their legs, make new friends, and remind you who truly runs the household.

Parks, playtime, and a world of pawsibilities?

Yep, it's all just a short drive (or enthusiastic sprint) away!

Here are the dog-friendly parks near Sunrise Harbour.

The perfect spot for families with kids looking to play in the playground and dog owners who need to walk their pups, Sunrise Harbor Park, though not as spacious as most parks, is a convenient option, especially if don't want to stray far from home.

Sunrise Harbor Park also offers a shaded shelter, an array of trees, and outdoor space for strolling — just make sure that Fido is on a leash!

2) Ingraham Park (Top-Pick!)

4751 Ingraham Terrace, Coral Gables, FL 33133

Enjoy shaded benches, playgrounds, and scenic water views at Ingraham Park, a dog-friendly nature spot just 3 minutes from Sunrise Harbour.

Offering over two acres of eclectic open spaces and picnic tables, Ingraham Park boasts newly revamped grounds that feature a stunning fountain inspired by the Palace of Alhambra in Granada, Spain, enhanced landscaping, exercise stations, walking paths, misting machines, inviting benches, and more.

At Ingraham Park, you'll also see a new, bright red bridge connected to the Commodore Bike Trail that provides bicyclists and pedestrians a safe crossing over the Coral Gables Waterway between Cocoplum Circle and Ingraham Park.

Make sure to keep your pups on a leash while you're here!

3) Merrie Christmas Park

4355 SW 42nd Ave, Miami, FL 33133

Stroll along a glorious array of Ficus and banyan trees with thick, twinning trunks at Merrie Christmas Park, a famous Coconut Grove park just 4 minutes from Sunrise Harbour.

Unlike many Miami parks, Merrie Christmas Park focuses on providing open green space, where only a tiny portion of land is paved for sidewalks and playground equipment.

Here, you'll find rolling lawns for an on-leash romp or a gentle meandering walk with Fido, while the "sunken" park, which sits in a natural bowl, can safely contain all kinds of play for hoomans and pups alike.

Merrie Christmas Park also features picnic tables and benches placed under, near, and in front of trees to provide places to rest and give your good dog some pets.

4) Maggiore Park

5028 Maggiore Street, Coral Gables, FL 33146

Say hello to Maggiore Park, a public, dog-friendly park just 6 minutes from Sunrise Harbour.

Boasting a location in front of the historic Chinese Village, Maggiore Park's design pays tribute to Chinese traditions, with vibrant red and blue hues ornating the entrance gate.

Here, you'll find a drinking fountain, bike rack, children's playground, and open lawn space for additional play or relaxation.

Dogs can visit the park as long as they have their leashes on!

5) Barnacle Historic State Park (Top-Pick!)

3485 Main Hwy, Miami, FL 33133

Share a historic exploration with your furry pal at Barnacle Historic State Park, home to Coconut Grove's oldest house, built in 1891, just a 7-minute drive from Sunrise Harbour.

Offering Historic House tours, a lush mangrove forest with large, old trees lining the perimeters of Biscayne Bay, and fun outdoor activities, Barnacle Historic State Park remains a popular destination where you can bird-watch, try your hand at geo-seeking, commune with nature, or simply watch the sailboats pass by on Biscayne Bay with your canine companion.

Remember to keep your pup on a hand-held leash no longer than six feet and pick up after it at all times.

While only service dogs are allowed inside the building and the house, The Barnacle Historic State Park is still an exciting tourist site to enjoy with your pup.

6) Esther Mae Armbrister Park

4000 Grand Ave, Miami, FL 33133
