Take Fido on an unforgettable "dog venture" filled with countless zoomies and the loudest happy howls across the most furriendly parks peppered around Hammock Oaks, a luxurious waterfront oasis hailed as one of Coral Gables' most coveted gated communities.

Share the fun with your four-legged 'bestie' as you plan an epic "expawdition" packed with park playdates and waterfront strolls in Hammock Oaks, a serene enclave offering a paw-some rendezvous by the bay!

Perched on Old Cutler Road, embraced by the stunning views of Biscayne Bay's sparkling blues and lush South Florida greenery, Hammock Oaks spans 85 acres on Coral Gables' southernmost tip, occupied by 107 estate-style homes— most located on the water, with Hammock Lakes on its northwest, Snapper Creek Lakes at its west, and Gables Estates directly in the east.

Sounds private and exclusive, doesn't it?

Well, that's only half of what Hammock Oaks really is.

Despite being one of Coral Gables' most elite neighborhoods, Hammock Oaks never lets the fun slip away — for humans AND their furry friends!

In fact, you can enjoy an equally prestigious list of Fido-approved parks just minutes from Hammock Oaks, with endless tail-wagging adventures at every turn!

Here are the dog-friendly parks near Hammock Oaks.

     1)    Pinecrest Gardens   (Top-Pick!)

     11000 SW 57th Ave, Pinecrest, FL 33156

If you're looking for a touristy activity with your canine pal, visit Pinecrest Gardens, a 5-minute drive from Hammock Oaks, via Old Cutler Rd.!

A "paw-some" tourist spot that delivers big on beauty, charm, and nature, the garden is home to an array of amenities, including a zoo, gardens, and a pond!

And while it's closed to furry visitors during the week, the recreational haven turns into a pup-friendly park during the weekends, from 10 am to 5 pm!

During this period, you and your best pal will have a ball roaming the various trails, enjoying a few hours of fun and exploration!

The Pinecrest Gardens staff can provide things your dog may need to enjoy its experience at Pinecrest Gardens.

It includes water bowls, drinking water, and cleanup bags. Park officials also have leads on a lending system, in case you forgot yours at home.

Aside from the trails, you'll find grass and picnic areas around the garden, so you and Fido can also enjoy a picnic on the grounds if the mood strikes.

Dogs are allowed to visit on leashes.

     2)   Banyan Drive Park

9055 Banyan Dr, Coral Gables, FL 33156

A quaint park lying near Hammock Oaks, Banyan Drive Park may be 'lacking' in amenities, but it offers a vast green space to walk with your pup-- and a beautiful view of Center Lake along with it, just a 7-minute drive.

Come to the small nature area and enjoy a fun stroll with Fido, and bring the kids too for a quick run-around at the park's playground.

Just be sure to bring water, doggie bags, and a leash, as Banyan Drive Park doesn't have a water fountain to get water from, nor a restroom in case the 'call of nature' strikes!

Dogs are allowed to visit on leashes.

     3)    Coral Bay Park

1590 Campamento Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33156

Boasting 1.3 acres of recreational grounds, Coral Bay Park offers scenic views, picnic tables, benches, and outdoor sports areas you can enjoy near Hammock Oaks, just 7 minutes away.

Here, you can hang out with your pup, stroll along its walking path, and use the park playground when visiting with kids in tow!

Don't forget to bring Fido's leash!

     4)    Dante Fascell Park

8600 Red Rd, South Miami, FL 33143

One of South Miami's largest parks, Dante Fascell Parks boasts 7.73 acres of green space and is home to outdoor sports recreational areas, a beautiful sculpture garden donated by the City of South Miami's sister city Medellin, in Colombia, and lush mature trees.

And yes, folks, you can bring Fido when you visit, especially since it's only 7 minutes from Hammock Oaks —just don't forget its leash!

At Dante Fascell Park, you can enjoy a jogging trail to explore with your pup, marvel around the sculpture garden, or sit on the picnic tables for a quick lunch or rest with your bud.

There are also six clay tennis courts, outdoor fitness equipment, a sand volleyball court, a gated playground and tot lot, vending machines, a basketball half-court, and restrooms.

     5)   Matheson Hammock Park & Marina    (Top-Pick!)

9610 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, FL 33156

Plan a relaxing day with your pup at Matheson Hammock Park in Coral Gables, another famous tourist spot near Hammock Oaks, just 7 minutes away!

The 630-acre urban park surrounds the north and western ends of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, famous for its vast stretches of Florida mangroves and hardwood forests and planned green spaces designed by landscape architect William Lyman Phillips.

At Matheson Hammock Park, you and your dog can enjoy South Florida’s beautiful water views and welcoming atmosphere.

Meanwhile, its winding road takes visitors through three important Florida landscapes, starting with swamp and dense mangrove forests and ending at an open cove overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Matheson Hammock Park & Marina also boasts an artificial atoll pool, naturally flushed by the tidal action of Biscayne Bay.

Its tranquil breeze-swept beach is a haven for families who enjoy the water and beautiful views.

The park is a prime spot for kite-boarding, too!

Other amenities include a full-service marina, snack bar & restaurant, picnic pavilions, and nature trails.

Dogs are allowed on the trails and in specific spots around the park on leashes.

     6)    Merrie Christmas Park

     4355 SW 42nd Ave, Miami, FL 33133

With an array of Ficus and banyan trees with thick, twinning trunks dominating the park, you can say that Merrie Christmas Park's standout feature is its lush nature.

But the park offers way more beyond it!

Unlike many Miami parks, Merrie Christmas Park focuses on providing open green space, with only a tiny portion of land paved for sidewalks and playground equipment.

Its rolling lawns make a perfect spot for an on-leash romp or a gentle meandering walk.

It's a sunken park that sits in a natural bowl, safely containing all kinds of play.

There are picnic tables and benches placed under, near, and in front of trees around the park, providing places to rest and give your good dog some pets.

It's the perfect spot to visit with your pup when looking for shade on a warm sunny day!

Whether you want to romp up and down the park's small hills, gaze up into the maze of a banyan tree's branches, or bring a treat and something to read, Merrie Christmas Park is an ideal place to spend a beautiful Miami afternoon with Fido, an 8-minute drive from Hammock Oaks!

     7)   Ingraham Park

4751 Ingraham Terrace, Coral Gables, FL 33133

A leafy public park featuring shaded benches, a playground, and scenic water views, Coral Gables' Ingraham Park is one of several nature spots you can visit with your dog near Hammock Oaks, just 8 minutes away.

An eclectic little spot with over two acres of open spaces and picnic tables, Ingraham Park has recently been revamped into a neighborhood park of elegance.

Starting with its stunning fountain inspired by the Palace of Alhambra in Granada, Spain, to enhanced landscaping, exercise stations, walking & jogging paths, misting machines, inviting benches, and more.

Along with the park's reconstruction is the new bright red bridge serving as an enhancement to the Commodore Bike Trail.

The bridge provides bicyclists and pedestrians a safe crossing over the Coral Gables Waterway between Cocoplum Circle and Ingraham Park.

And yes, dog owners, dogs are allowed in Ingraham Park, as long as you keep their leashes on!

Since it doesn't get crowded much in the area, Ingraham Park is the perfect park to enjoy a relaxing quality time with Fido!

     8)    Veterans Park

8021 SW 58th Avenue, South Miami, FL 33143

Another pocket park you can visit with Fido is South Miami's Veterans Park, a 0.59-acre park with a gazebo, picnic tables, a tiny children's playground, and open green space to run or stroll with your pup, an 8-minute drive from Hammock Oaks.

Veterans Park allows leashed doggie visitors, but remember to clean up after them to maintain the park's cleanliness and safety.

     9)    Van Smith Park

7800 SW 59th Ave, South Miami, FL 33143

Take a day off and smell the fresh air at the quiet Van Smith Park, a South Miami nature spot 9 minutes from Hammock Oaks.

At 1.14 acres, the small park features a short nature trail good enough for a stroll with your pup and a central grassy area for a quick family picnic or lounging under the sun.

Dogs on leashes are allowed inside Van Smith Park.

     10)    Fuchs Park

     445 SW 81st St, Miami, FL 33143

Given its proximity to US-1, Fuchs Park is a surprisingly lush environment you can visit after an exhausting city exploration, a 10-minute drive from Hammock Oaks.

Boasting a location adjacent to the city's Chamber South, the park boasts a playground, restrooms, pavilions, picnic tables and benches, and a sand volleyball court.

Aside from its amenities, Fuchs Park offers a pond area, considered its feature element, a haven for an array of water birds.

The park also has a pedestrian-only trail perfect for a stroll with Fido and a water fountain to quench your pup's thirst.

Dogs on leashes are allowed inside Fuchs Park.

     11)    Maggiore Park

5028 Maggiore Street, Coral Gables, FL 33146

A new park on the Coral Gables block, Maggiore Park welcomes the public and their pups to its lush grounds, just a 10-minute drive from Hammock Oaks.

The park sits in front of the historic Chinese Village, and its design pays tribute to the Chinese Village with its vibrant use of red and blue colors and ornate entrance gates.

Maggiore Park features a drinking fountain, bike rack, children's playground, and open lawn space for additional play or relaxation.

It's also on the list of dog-friendly parks in Coral Gables, so dogs can visit the park as long as they have their leashes on!

     12)    Chapman Trail Dog Park - Chapman Field Park   (Top-Pick!)

13601 Deering Bay Dr, Coral Gables, FL 33158

With 432 acres of pristinely maintained mangroves and saltwater wetlands and 51 acres of outdoor space just for pups, the Chapman Field Park and its famous Chapman Trail Dog Park are a 'no-brainer' when looking for a grand adventure for dogs and 'hoomans' alike, just a 10-minute drive from Hammock Oaks.

Here, you'll find sun and surf activities for you and your furry best friend, including a list of trails to explore, baseball fields for unlimited games of fetch, and grassy areas to run around.

And don't forget the expansive park's kayaking and canoeing areas, where you can engage in water sports or dip to cool off after a fun park day.

For some off-leash fun, the Chapman Trail Dog Park offers separate sections for large and small dogs.

Clean-up bags are available at Chapman Field Park, but bring drinking water to keep Fido's thirst at bay.
