Set a "fur-riendly" escape for you and your favorite pal across the dog-friendly parks moments from Eastern Shores, an exclusive piece of suburbia within the lush perimeter of NMB!

Spoil your pup with long walks and unforgettable moments as you enjoy a Fido-approved rendezvous around Eastern Shores, a gated North Miami Beach community revered for its waterfront lifestyle, luxurious real estate, and scenic appeal.

Boasting proximity to several famous Miami hubs, including Sunny Isles Beach, Aventura, and Bal Harbour, Eastern Shores, although primarily a residential area, provides dog owners and their furry companions a paw-some time outdoors, thanks to its access to a few of the top dog-friendly parks hailing from its nearby neighbors.

And we're not just talking about your usual open spaces and barren grounds — at Eastern Shores, you'll choose from the best of the best!

So, what are you waiting for?

Grab that leash and put your doggo in its best suit — it's time to frolic under the sun!

Here are the dog-friendly parks near Eastern Shores.

1) East Greynold Park (Top-Pick!)

16700 Biscayne Blvd, North Miami Beach, FL 33160

Step into the Northeast Regional Dog Park, North Miami Beach's beloved East Greynolds Park, and a standout among South Florida's renowned off-leash dog parks!

This 1.76-acre gem, highly favored by local dog owners, offers two distinct sections: one for small breeds and another tailored for larger dogs.

Each area is well-fenced, shaded, and equipped with benches and wash stations to cool off your furry companions.

You'll also find water fountains for you and your pets to stay hydrated, plus plenty of shaded seating where you can relax as your dogs frolic across the open, tennis ball-scattered fields.

Keep in mind that after a good rain, the park can get a bit muddy with several inviting puddles, so take advantage of the wash stations to ensure your pup stays clean for the 5-minute ride home!

2) Oleta River State Park (Top-Pick!)

3400 NE 163rd St., North Miami Beach, FL 33160

Nestled on the shores of Biscayne Bay in North Miami Beach is a sprawling 1,043-acre haven perfect for a fun outing with your furry friend, Oleta River State Park, just 5 minutes from Eastern Shores.

As you pass through the gates, you'll find the serene beauty of tidal mangroves and a sense of calm that envelops this protected river estuary.

Known as Florida's largest urban park, Oleta offers over 1,000 acres of natural beauty where you can enjoy kayaking, biking, hiking, swimming, and camping.

Dogs are welcome on the trails and campgrounds but must remain leashed to ensure everyone's safety, especially around the park's wildlife areas.

Don't forget to bring waste bags for your pup—disposing of pet waste in the provided trash cans is required.

Please note that dogs can't go on the beach area of Oleta River State Park.

3) Haulover Beach Park (Top-Pick!)

10800 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33154

Nestled a 5-minute drive from Eastern Shores is Haulover Beach Park, a sprawling 177-acre urban park between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean.

A top destination for dog owners seeking a sun-soaked day out, Haulover Beach Park is known as one of Miami Beach's best dog-friendly spots, offering everything your pup could dream of—from sandy stretches for a splash in the sea to the Bark Park, a spacious off-leash area with separate zones for large and small dogs.

The Bark Park is well-equipped with drinking water stations and clean-up bags, ensuring a clean and fun environment for everyone.

If swimming with your furry friend sounds fun, you're in luck!

You'll find a designated dog-friendly beach area between Lifeguard Towers #2 and #3, open from 8 am to 3 pm.

Remember to keep your dog on a leash until you reach the off-leash zones.

4) Barry Silverman Park

2000 NE 161st St, North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Spanning 1.2 acres of vibrant green space, Barry Silverman Park is the ideal spot for dog walking and outdoor activities in North Miami Beach, just 5 minutes from Eastern Shores.

Loaded with amenities like picnic tables, sand volleyball courts, tot lots for children, and short walking trails, Barry Silverman Park offers a delightful setting for relaxation and recreation.

Although your pup must remain on a leash while you're here, the park's expansive open areas provide plenty of space for leisurely walks any time of day.

With so many activities to choose from, you and your furry companion can transform an ordinary walk into an exciting adventure.

5) Fulford Park

2075 NE 168th St, North Miami Beach, FL 33162

At Fulford Park, just 6 minutes from Eastern Shores, you can enjoy the open green spaces that provide the perfect setting for a leisurely walk with your dog.

While your furry friend explores the park—leashed, of course—you can take advantage of the amenities like the basketball courts, offering a chance to shoot some hoops and stay active.

Though small, this neighborhood park offers plenty of space and activities for you and your pup to enjoy together.

6) Jack Chaiken Park

172 St. & NE 22 Ave., North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Jack Chaiken Park may be small, but it's the perfect pit stop for a relaxing walk with your dog, 6 minutes from Eastern Shores.

Nestled near a parking lot in North Miami Beach, this quiet, passive park doesn't offer recreational activities, making it an ideal spot for your pup to stretch its legs and enjoy fresh air during your travels.

Don't forget to bring a leash for your visit.

7) Bone Zone-Senator Gwen Margolis Park (Top-Pick!)

17815 N Bay Rd, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160

Nestled in Sunny Isles Beach, 6 minutes from Eastern Shores, is Senator Gwen Margolis Park, a well-known 2.84-acre spot offering a safe and fun space for your furry friend!

Brimming with activities for the whole family, including a soccer field, a shaded playground with equipment for toddlers and older kids, picnic tables, and plenty of seating, Senator Gwen Margolis Park boasts fun for everyone in the family, its highlight being the ultimate spot for dog owners, the 'Bone Zone,' a fenced, off-leash area where pups can run free, make new friends, and burn off some energy.

Remember that dogs are only allowed in the designated areas, so don't forget to bring a leash when entering and exiting the park.

Additional park amenities include free WiFi, picnic tables, and a convenient community shuttle service.

8) Martin Luther King Park

155th Ter. & NE 16th Ave., North Miami Beach, FL 33162

Named in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., a towering figure in the civil rights movement, Martin Luther King Park is a serene, passive park in North Miami Beach, just 7 minutes from Eastern Shores.

While it's a great spot for a peaceful walk with your dog, there's more to this park than just green space.

In 2023, the city erected a statue of Martin Luther King Jr., thoughtfully placed in what locals refer to as "the alley"—a poignant location where a wall once segregated Blacks from Whites during the era of segregation.

So, as you bond with your pup, you can also reflect on the rich history encapsulated in this meaningful space.

9) Heritage Park

19200 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160

Set in the vibrant heart of Sunny Isles Beach, Heritage Park is an ideal spot for dog lovers, just a quick 7-minute drive from Eastern Shores.

Covering four acres, Heritage Park has something for everyone—from two playgrounds and a Veteran's Wall to fountains, a water play area, and an event stage.

A spacious open lawn and ample parking make it perfect for a day filled with outdoor activities.

For those with four-legged companions, the park's south side features a leash-free zone where dogs can run and play in a safe, fenced area.

Just a heads-up, though—pups are only allowed in this designated space, so keep them on a leash elsewhere in the park.

Heritage Park also offers picnic tables, benches, free WiFi, restrooms, vending machines, and a community shuttle service for added convenience.
