Make memories with your four-legged sidekick at grassy fields, friendly paths, and cozy pet stops around Belle Meade, a peaceful pocket of tropical calm in Miami's Upper East Side.

Upgrade your Fido's daily walk to something more designer with scenic trails, stylish pet patios, and ultra-chic dog runs near Belle Meade, a tiny paradise built on the essence of Florida living.

Tucked between Morningside and Biscayne Bay, Belle Meade is known for its gated streets, charming mid-century homes, and relaxed waterfront energy amidst a unique upscale lifestyle that moves with Biscayne Bay's quiet pulse and shields residents from the city's bustling ambiance.

Yet while it may not be packed with high-rises or heavy traffic, what it lacks in noise, Belle Meade makes up for in leafy sidewalks and scenic routes perfect for dog lovers and their spoiled sidekicks.

Yes, paw-rents, Belle Meade's location connects you to some of Miami's best and most underrated green spaces, where dogs can ditch the leash, chase a few squirrels, and enjoy the kind of freedom you don't usually find this close to the city.

Whether your pup's sniffing your way down canal-side paths or jogging toward Biscayne Bay, there's no shortage of ways to let that doggo burn off steam (and maybe a few treats).

And because we believe every four-legged buddy deserves a little adventureyes, even the one who refuses to get in the car we've rounded up the best spots to start exploring!

Here are the dog-friendly parks near Belle Meade.

1) Belle Meade Mini Park  (Top Pick!)

775 NE 77th St, Miami, FL 33138

While small and offering few amenities, the only park in Belle Meade, Belle Meade Mini Park, shouldn't be disregarded when looking for a nature spot with a pup in tow.

The park has plenty of shade and room for the kids and Fido to play, boasting barbecue pits for your impromptu outdoor family lunches, picnic tables and benches to eat or sit on, and a vast shaded playground that your kids will love.

And good news for dog owners, Belle Meade Mini Park also has a dedicated dog park within its premises, with a fenced area for off-leash fun.

However, the rest of the park requires dogs to be leashed at all times.

Don't forget to bring water and a lead for your dog when you visit!

2) Manatee Bend Park

465 NE 77th Street Rd, Miami, FL 33138

On the banks of the historic Little River, wedged up against the bustling neighborhood of Miami Ironside, sits a patch of grass where you can lie about and let your dog run around near Belle Meade.

Welcome to Manatee Bend Park, a 1.2-acre park with open green spaces and fields right on the river, with tall trees that cover more than half of it under shade, located just 3 minutes away.

Here, dog lovers and their pups can stroll its small, partly-shaded looping concrete trail, perimeter sidewalk, and a concrete trail that follows along the river's edge.

It offers benches along the edge of the grass and a rocky shore that descends into the water.

One of the best features of this park is the fact that you can view manatees at this park.

With picnic tables and benches available, there is plenty of room to sit and relax on the shore, where you can view hordes of sea cows relaxing in the water.

Due to this, doggie visitors must remain on a leash while at Manatee Bend Park.

3) Legion Park (Top Pick!)

6447 NE 7th Ave, Miami, FL 33138

A vast park perfect for leisure and play, Legion Park, home to the famous Legion Dog Park, is where you can bring Fido for an off-leash adventure near Belle Mead, a 5-minute drive.

At Eaton Park, visitors enjoy an array of amenities, including a basketball court, bicycle paths, an open grassy area for multipurpose use, picnic tables and barbecue pits, a playground, and an outdoor sports area.

While smaller than other parks, it gives you enough space to take your pup for a stroll.

Dogs are allowed to visit Eaton Park on a leash.

5) Baywood Park

A small but lovely park in the Upper Eastside neighborhood of the Bayside Historic District, Baywood Park is a straightforward nature spot loved by locals and dog owners alike just 6 minutes from Belle Meade.

At Baywood Park, you'll find plenty of parking, peace, and a beautiful waterfront view overlooking Biscayne Bay, Bird Key, and Legion Picnic Islands.

Dog park amenities include benches, a 5-foot high chainlink fence, a water fountain for humans, kids, and dogs, clean-up stations, and trash bins to use.

Meanwhile, at Military Trail Park, dogs on leashes can explore its entirety, where you can enjoy a shaded playground, picnic tables, a .4-mile trail made from concrete, benches, and water fountains near the play area.

It's a great area to walk around in a loop to get away from the active dog center of the park.

Don't forget to bring a leash!

What the park lacks in amenities, it makes up for with its picturesque scenery.

In fact, Miami Shores Village Bayfront Park is a great place to stop if you can't make it to the beach!

You'll see locals in this park, eating, people-watching, dog-walking, or watching the sunrise or sunset!

Indeed,  it's the perfect spot to spend a relaxing time with your pup around Belle Meade.

10) North Bay Village Dog Park (Top Pick!)

The city park boasts a basketball court, recreation center, kids' playground, picnic tables, and restrooms.

It is where most residents socialize and relax with family, friends, and their dogs.

Drop by the park with your dog in tow, but don't forget to pack its leash!

14) Biscayne Shores and Gardens Park

11525 NE 14th Ave, Miami, FL 33161

If palm trees, expansive spaces of grass, and the Florida sun are all you need to have a good time with Fido, stop by Biscayne Shores and Garden Park, a 9-minute drive from Belle Meade!

The park has more than 6 acres of green space and shade to play in, with ample parking in the southeast corner.

Once in the parking area, you and your leashed pup can enjoy a newly paved looping trail that travels through the park and connects shaded sitting areas.

Biscayne Shores and Gardens Park also has some great dog-friendly amenities, like dog-sized water fountains, clean-up stations, benches and picnic tables, and trash bins.

You'll find large shade trees, open fields, a community garden, and a small playground at the park's center.

15) Museum Garage

90 NE 41st St. Miami, FL 33137

A seven-floor parking garage in the heart of Miami Design District, Museum Garage is not just your average car parking area.

It's a work of art-- and an ideal spot for Instaworthy photos with Fido, just 9 minutes from Belle Meade.

In 2015, Design District developer Craig Robins commissioned architect and curator Terence Riley to develop the concept for Museum Garage.

Bringing together these designers from around the world, Riley drew inspiration from the surrealist parlor game Exquisite Corpse.

The game involved a collection of images assembled by various artists with no regard or knowledge of what the other artists have drawn, producing one image whose components don't necessarily match but flow together as one playful composition.

Under Riley's direction, each participating architect worked on an area and depth to build out, getting free rein to create individual designs.

And the result?

A unique modern, architectural version of the Exquisite Corpse-- Design District's Museum Garage.

While there isn't much to see or stuff to do in Museum Garage, Fido can tag along as you explore the unique corners of this parking garage and take beautiful photos with your furry pal for your socials!

Be sure to put your pup on a leash!

16) Jungle Plaza

3801 NE 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33137

Design District's premier outdoor event space for large-scale productions and events, Jungle Plaza, is another spot you can walk Fido, albeit it's not a grassy, shady, or actual park, per se, just 10 minutes from Belle Meade.

A 33,000 square foot location with easy access to parking, the plaza features a monumental mural by the Brazilian artist Criola, titled "Interdimensional Portal," a scene that represents a group of female characters in bright, bold colors and vibrant geometry, performing rituals of healing and protection.

It's one of the most artistic and colorful areas in the city!

Aside from the "Interdimensional Portal," visitors will see a Jungle-themed mural on the wall, a colorful focal point that pays homage to the South Floridian landscape.

Dogs are allowed in Jungle Plaza, but leashes are required during your visit.

Don't forget your dog's water supply.

It can get hot during the day, and you won't find shade nearby.
