This Go-To Travel Destination Is Imposing New Rules For Spring Break!
Where: across Miami Beach
When: Happening Now (and tentatively, FOREVER!)
Following the release of a Spring break commercial showing Miami Beach "breaking up" with Spring Break, one of the country's highly anticipated annual events, the city government has imposed new "Spring Break" rules — most directed at visitors!
To give you an idea, Miami Beach is now instating curfews, DUI checkpoints, and bag checks at beach entrances, closing parking lots, and making arrests for drug possession and violence (as they should!).
Beach entrances will also be limited to 5th, 10th, and 12th Streets, which will close at 6 p.m., and items like coolers, inflatable devices, tents, tables, and similar objects won't be allowed on the beach.
To add, playing loud music is now restricted without a permit, alongside alcohol and cigarettes, and parking fees in busy garages and lots have increased to a flat rate of $30 for visitors, with some lots only open to residents.
Meanwhile, those running illegal short-term rentals like Airbnbs and VBROs may have a fine of $1,000 to $5,000 daily.
Are you happy with these new Spring Break rules?
Well, like it or not, it's the new "normal" for Miami's hottest coastal resort city — at least, until the next update!
