What's new in Hialeah?

I've all the juicy "deets" for anyone who wants to know!

Known for its rich cultural heritage and endless career opportunities, Hialeah is back with new community projects, residential and commercial developments, and a street renamed after a former president(?) to show the world why it's one of Miami's burgeoning cities!

Get ready for the exciting mix of quirky, innovative, and life-changing updates coming your way — we've got the down-low of what's here and what you can expect in the coming days, months, and years in "The City of Progress!"

Here are 5 things new to watch for in Hialeah.

(1)

Hello, Donald J. Trump Avenue?

Where: Palm Ave Hialeah, FL 33010-33013

When: TBA

Last year, Mayor Esteban "Steve" Bovo announced his intention to name part of Palm Avenue after former President Donald Trump after his rally at Henry Milander Park in November 2023.

As of recent updates, the Hialeah council has approved the motion!

Despite the city's Historic Preservation Board's unanimous vote against the street re-naming in June 2023 (and flak from some residents), the Hialeah city council still unanimously passed a proposal to name the historic road after Donald J. Trump.

When will we see the controversial street sign on Palm Avenue?

Keep your eyes peeled for updates!

The "Eight" Can't-Wait — A $620M Transformation For Hialeah

Where: across Hialeah

When: TBA

Eight upcoming projects amounting to $620 million were unveiled in Hialeah, and multiple developers are bringing this burgeoning city a surge of more "progress," from industrial to multifamily and office developments!

What changes and "coming soons" can locals expect in Miami's "City of Progress?"

Well, we have a new rental community project proposal (7450 West Fourth Avenue) comprised of 12 apartments and 100 townhomes by Prestige Companies and Florida Value Partners, a new three-building industrial and office complex at the Countyline Corporate Park (4010 West 104th Street) worth $111.1 million from Ares Management, and a collection of speculative warehouses spanning an impressive 463,000 square feet (4220 West Place) by the Easton Group and the L.B.A. Logistics.

Hialeah will also welcome a luxurious two-building, 10-story apartment complex called Metro Parc (955 East 25th Street) by Coral Gables-based MG Developer and New York-based Baron Property Group, which will offer 559 units, another Ares Management warehouse development within the 95-acre Countyline Corporate Park (4010 West 104th Street), and a new 70-acre mixed-use project with 244 apartments and a retail component with shops like Publix, Burlington, HomeGoods, Five Below, Taco Bell, and Famous Footwear by Dacar Management at 3685 West 85th Path.

Lastly, locals can also expect another rental community development with seven buildings and 476 one-to-three-bedroom apartments on 4030 West 88th Street by J.V.C. Management, and a new Mater Academy K-12 charter school and 343 apartments by Prestige Companies on a 13.1-acre vacant lot within the historic Hialeah Park Racing & Casino (100 East 32nd Street).

Whew, a long list, isn't it?

The only question is, when can we expect these unrivaled projects to rise?

That's an update we're all excited for!

A Mormon Church Just Bought A $174M Industrial Park In Hialeah, And It's The Biggest Warehouse Deal Of 2023!

Where: Beacon Logistics Park, 4220 W 91st Terrace, Hialeah, FL 33018

Six Hialeah warehouses were snagged for $174.3 million, and it was the most significant industrial transaction in Miami-Dade for 2023, but the buyer wasn't a major corporation or manufacturer.

It was the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

Although no specific plans have been announced (yet) for the massive warehouse space, word on the street is that the Utah-based LDS church's purchase is an investment play.

Are we expecting a new Mormon church in the pipeline?

Only time will tell!

Will The American Dream Miami Remain A Dream?

Where: Northwest Miami-Dade

When: TBA

In 2018, Triple Five won the approval of Miami-Dade Country to open the biggest mall in America, to be built on 175 acres of undeveloped land in Northwest Miami-Dade where I-75 and Florida Turnpike meet.

And though the proposal was announced in 2015, the project is still on the drawing board, despite its promise of completion in 2020 and more employment for locals by 2025!

Will the American Dream Miami remain a "dream?"

We hope it doesn't because American Dream Miami will offer six million feet of stores, restaurants, and entertainment lures, like an artificial indoor ski slope and a submarine lake!

And, of course, more career opportunities for Hialeah and Miami Lakes locals!

Will this $4 billion project push through?

We're eager to find out!

A New Playground Just Opened In Babcock Park!

Where: 651 E 4th Ave, Hialeah, FL 33010

When: Happening Now!

KABOOM! and Smile Generation unveiled a new neighborhood hangout at Babcock Park last March, and it's bound to leave "smiles" on your kiddos' faces!

Babcock Park's children's playground is the first nature-inspired playground in Hialeah and offers new play equipment and sports facilities like pickleball courts, slides, swings, green spaces, and more!

And get this — most of Babcock Park's new playground's design came from the drawings of Hialeah kids!

Indeed, this project brings Hialeah a step closer to a happier and healthier future!
