What's new in Westchester?
I've all the juicy "deets" for anyone who wants to know!
Rarely making headlines, despite its location in Miami Metro, Westchester thrives in its seeming "anonymity," providing locals with a peaceful urban-suburban lifestyle amidst a prominent Hispanic culture, nature-driven ambiance, and a unique dining scene — with the best Cuban, Colombian, Chilean, Salvadoran, and Mexican restaurants in town!
But will Westchester remain an 'incognito' community for long?
We think otherwise, especially with new affordable communities, hospitals, and on-demand free ride services in the pipeline!
And best of all, these exciting additions are happening SOONER than you think!

A Luxury Senior Living Community Debuts In Westchester!

2023 remains a significant year for the unassuming Metro neighborhood of Westchester as The Contemporary, a lavish senior living community and the first of its kind in Westchester, opened its doors to the public!
And yes, senior living hasn't been the same since.
Unveiled in January 2023, The Contemporary, a development by leading Miami-based commercial real estate owners and developers MAS Group and AJP Ventures, and equity partner OCTA, is managed by nationally recognized senior care and assisted living organization Charter Senior Living.
The modern senior living community offers premier amenities and convenient services alongside one- and two-bedroom luxury apartments with open floor plans on a 6-acre campus with shaded walking paths and trails, thoughtfully designed gathering spaces, indoor lounges, casual dining options, state-of-the-art fitness center, and other upmarket features.
The Contemporary also brought a new Class A medical office building to Westchester, MedSquare Place, which houses some of South Florida's best-in-class health care and wellness providers, including WellMed/Optum, Keralty Hospital, and Dr. Nick Castellanos, DDS, which opened in the same year.

Mount Sinai Medical Center Of Florida Expands To Westchester!

When: Fall 2025
It looks like MedSquare Place won't be the only new medical care facility in Westchester with the arrival of Mount Sinai Medical Center-Westchester, Mount Sinai's third freestanding emergency center.
Although construction for the highly anticipated emergency center and specialty care building won't start until the Fall of this year, sources advise that it will be a state-of-the-art four-story development with over 110,755 square feet of free space.
Mount Sinai Medical Center-Westchester will also feature 24 exam rooms, dedicated ultrasound, MRI, CT scans, and X-ray rapid imaging services (with minimal wait time), and specialty care offices to increase residents' accessibility to Mount Sinai's healthcare services.
If everything goes as planned, Mount Sinai Medical Center-Westchester is estimated to rise in Fall 2025.

Attention, Westchester commuters!
If you usually walk to public transportation, there's a new way to get to where you're headed — and it's free!
Say hello to MetroConnect, Miami-Dade's upgraded free ride service, similar to Uber or Lyft (without the fee!).
Formerly known as GoConnect, MetroConnect is one of Miami-Dade's initiatives to provide residents with more dynamic and fluid service connecting to and from transit, and soon after its release, the new program expanded its service to North Dade, South Dade, the TransitWay, and you guessed it, Westchester!
With a few taps on the MetroConnect app, you can book a shared ride with others headed in the same direction as long as you're within the service zone.
MetroConnnect also has ADA-accessible vehicles, so "wheels-on-wheels" rides won't be a problem!
