SNC-Lavalin won the bidding to give the aging Shepard Broad Causeway a life-changing "facelift, and it's getting the Bay Harbors Islands locals ecstatic!
While the final date of the re-enhancement is yet to be announced, the Broad Causeway Bridge Replacement is said to provide multi-modal safety improvements, increase mobility, enhance hurricane evacuation capability, and ease daily and seasonal congestion with a bridge that meets current design standards of the United States Coast Guard (USCG).
There are also talks about the new bridge having fixed and movable options.
Of course, nothing is set in stone (yet!), so keep your eyes peeled for any updates!
