Are High Pines And Ponce Davis Now Part of Coral Gables?
Here's a quick answer — no, they're not.
But just last January 2023, Coral Gables' local government announced an expansion to its annexation plans, adding High Pines and Ponce Davis to a resolution to annex Little Gables, a 205-acre piece of unincorporated Miami-Dade County, that was green-lighted in August 2022.
However, due to residents' strong opposition, Mayor Lago's proposition was censured by the city commission in October 2023, effectively terminating the motion.
Will there be a new annexation attempt on the horizon?
Let's keep our eyes peeled for updates!
